Dentists: You have to look after your own teeth – see Keeping your Teeth – if you don’t, you’ll lose them. You should also visit a dentist for a check-up every six months. If you’ve allowed some cavities to appear he will fill them and otherwise advise what you need to do.
Opticians: It is perfectly possible to have poor eyesight without realizing it – how would you know any different? Take an eye test every few years to find out if you need glasses or contact lenses.
Chiropodists: If you have anything fairly serious wrong with your feet – such as an ingrowing toe-nail or a verruca – your GP can refer you to a chiropodist for treatment. However, many people like to visit a chiropodist regularly (annually, semi-annually) to have hard skin removed, nails checked and generally to have a 1000 mile service.
